Why Maintenance and Repair is Important

Servicing prolongs the life of your shutter installation. It helps avoid the sudden loss of income when a malfunctioning shutter or door restricts access to your premises. A service engineer will also detect abnormal wear and tear or damage which, if left undetected, would reduce the life expectancy of the product, or worse, render it dangerous.

Your legal requirement

There is also a legal requirement to keep roller shutters in a good state of repair.

  • Regulation 5 of the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992
  • Regulation 5 of the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

It is also a requirement that a documented maintenance record is kept of all servicing and repair work to roller shutters. HVP Security Shutters provides a logbook with all new installations.
