Case Study: Industrial Roller Shutter with wicket door at Marshall Audi Exeter
Overview
We recently installed a hand chain operated industrial roller shutter at Marshall Audi Exeter, located at 1 Matford Wy, Marsh Barton, Matford, Exeter, EX2 8FN.
The installation was essential for securing the back storage area of the car dealership, where budget considerations played a significant role. So a manually operated hand chain galvanised roller shutter was the ideal solution for this requirement.
About Exeter Audi
Marshall Audi Exeter is part of the Marshall Motor Group, one of the UK's largest dealer networks with over 110 years of history. The dealership is located in the Marsh Barton trading estate, Exeter's largest commercial estate. It offers a wide range of new and approved used Audi vehicles, along with comprehensive aftersales services including repairs and maintenance. The state-of-the-art facilities ensure a high-quality customer experience, meeting the needs of Audi enthusiasts and vehicle owners in the region.
Requirements
Audi Exeter's primary requirement was to install a cost-effective yet durable shutter for the back storage area. Because there was no other exit from that part of the warehouse, we integrated a wicket door into the shutter to maintain access and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Solution
To meet the client's needs, we installed an industrial hand chain operated roller shutter with a built-in wicket door. This design choice ensured that the shutter could be manually operated without the need for an electrical motor, thus keeping the costs down while providing reliable security. The galvanised finish of the shutter offers excellent resistance to corrosion, ensuring long-lasting durability even in demanding industrial environments.
Installation Photos of the Industrial Roller Shutter at Audi Exeter
The photos above show the HVP75 industrial roller shutter we installed to the back entramce of Exeter Audi. The roller door has what we call a "wicket gate", which is essentially a personnel door incorporated in the roller shutter curtain. This door can be opened and closed separately from the rolling shutter, allowing people to leave and enter the car dealership's back storage area without the need to raise the entire shutter. For manually operated roller shutters such as this one, it can be a good idea to have an access door through the shutter curtain, because raising and lowering the shutter not only takes some time, but also would open up the back storage to the elements.
Product Features
The installed shutter comes with several noteworthy features:
- Manual hand chain operation for budget-friendly installation
- Integrated wicket door for convenient access
- Galvanised steel construction for enhanced durability
- Suitable for industrial applications with high usage requirements
Security and budget nicely balanced
The new industrial roller shutter we installed at Marshall Audi Exeter perfectly met the Audi Exeter's needs for security and budget. The hand chain-operated shutter, along with the integrated wicket door, offers a practical and efficient solution for the dealership's back storage area.
