Steel Roller Shutters at the Clay Farm Centre in Cambridge

Here at HVP Security Shutters we had the opportunity to work on a great project that also helped benefit the community in the south of Cambridge.

Community centre security shutters

The Clay Farm Centre in Cambridge is a real local hub at the heart of a bustling neighbourhood. It hosts a community centre, library, meeting rooms and social café on the first floor, as well as a medical centre on the second floor. And the top two floors above that is residential accommodation.

Considerations for roller shutter installation

The centre asked us to supply and fit a set of rolling security shutters to offer them peace of mind with the security of the building. But because it’s a community centre, they also wanted to keep a friendly look and feel, so the shutters had to blend in with the existing exterior cladding of the building.

On top of that, because the shutters were installed on the outside of the The Clay Farm Centre building, they needed to be durable and robust. To satisfy these requirements of good security and durability, whilst staying in keeping with the overall aesthetic, we worked with the centre to select the right roller shutter for them.

We ended up supplying and installing a set of three Screenguard A3 powder coated steel roller shutters to match the building’s cladding. Operated with 240 Volt tube motors so they could be opened and closed electronically, they were the perfect shutters for the job.

Interior security shutters to café area

The Clay Farm Centre have since asked us to install security shutters to their interior café area, and so we’re looking forward to returning to Cambridge to install roller shutters there.
