An Engineer's Diary - Servicing Roller Shutters
Published: Saturday 23 January 2021
I felt like a secret agent last week. We have shutters fitted at many of the premier league football clubs and last week I had the privilege of servicing shutters at two of the biggest clubs.
Premier League Football Clubs
It’s funny, both clubs have us sworn to secrecy and the funniest thing about the whole week is that they are the two clubs with the biggest rivalry. So I’m sure if either of the clubs knew I'd been at their closest rival, servicing their shutters as well, they wouldn't have been happy. We have multiple shutters fitted at both clubs.
M6 traffic and more servicing
Apart from spending a lot of my time last week sitting in traffic on the M6, I also carried out calls and servicing in St Albans, Stevenage and Westminster.
For me as a service engineer, roller shutter maintenance is an important part of my work. And I enjoy making sure our shutters continue to perform the way they did when they were first installed.
Avoiding breakdowns
I know that looking after your roller shutters on a regular basis, just like you have your car serviced, keeps them in perfect shape. This avoids sudden breakdowns (which of course always happen at the worst time) and expensive repairs.
So at the end of the day, when I'm happy with a job well done, I know our clients will be happy too.
