Roller Shutters for Film Sets and Art Installations
Published: Thursday 8 December 2022
Roller shutters are regularly used at film production sets. Together with props and other objects, they can help create the atmosphere for a scene. Over the years we have had the honour to work on many film sets.
We're often sworn to secrecy to the actual films involved. But in truth even though I know our shutters were used in a film, once the set designers have finished with them, the shutters are always difficult to spot in the actual movie (even when watching a film several times). Still, it is always a joy when asked to get involved.
Roller Shutters for Art Exhibitions
Then something completely different. We have recently been involved in an Art Exhibition for Alvaro Barrington which included our Screenguard roller shutters in a galvanised finish. The exhibition was very industrial and suited our shutters perfectly.
At an art exhibition an audience can meet artworks. They can be in (commercial) galleries, museums or other venues. The space the show is in helps create the atmosphere for it, and adding roller shutters can help give it a certain feel.
Roller shutters not always for security
These examples show that roller shutters are not necessarily just for security. They can and do also play a role in shaping the atmosphere of a place. Each type of roller shutter has its own distinct 'feel'; traditional, classic, modern, open, industrial, etc.
If you're considering a roller shutter for your project we're always happy to talk it through with you. We can help you find the product that best suits your needs; both from a security and an aesthetic perspective.
